Opportunities and Smiles Bloom in Saraburi with GULF Sparks Smiles Year 5 Unit 2

Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), together with the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University (Dent Chula), are continuing their 5th year of the ‘GULF Sparks Smiles’ project, dedicated to bringing smiles and promoting good oral health within the community. The second unit for this year was held on May 7-8, 2025, at Nong Tang Boon Temple, Nong Saeng District, Saraburi Province. Volunteer dentists and GULF staff collaborated to provide comprehensive dental services to local and neighboring communities. This initiative reflects the shared commitment to fostering good oral health and improving the quality of life for all.

Asst. Prof. Tewarit Somkotra, a lecturer at the Department of Community Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, shared, “This marks my third time participating in the GULF Sparks Smiles project, a truly valuable initiative that directly benefits individuals in underserved areas. Importantly, the benefits are reciprocal. While patients receive crucial treatment, volunteer dentists gain essential field experience and a deeper understanding of real-world dental issues. This firsthand knowledge fuels further study and innovation, driving efforts to address inequality and generate lasting positive change in society.”

Mr. Teerapong Paejaroenchai, a volunteer dentist from the Saraburi Provincial Public Health Office, emphasized, “This initiative significantly improves access to dental care for many, especially given its cost. The free services provided today alleviate financial burdens and contribute to better oral health outcomes. Furthermore, it promotes early awareness of the importance of oral hygiene. We extend our sincere gratitude to the collaboration between GULF and the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, for making this impactful project a reality.”

Volunteers Mr. Pulawat Thawaichai and Ms. Krissana Hasdin, from GULF Spark page, expressed, “Volunteering today has been a rewarding experience. Reaching out through the GULF Spark Facebook Page presented a valuable opportunity to contribute. This experience has provided us with knowledge and insights that will undoubtedly benefit our future university studies. We thank GULF Sparks Smiles project for offering this chance to those interested in volunteering.”

In its 5th year, GULF Sparks Smiles continues to bring bright smiles to communities and has further plans to provide free dental services across various areas. This ongoing initiative underscores GULF’s commitment to delivering smiles and promoting good oral health, aligning with the company’s sustainable business practices that prioritize social and environmental well-being.
