GULF, AIS, and JAS Secure Exclusive Thai League Broadcast Rights to Elevate Thai Football Globally

Gulf Development Public Company Limited, in partnership with Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS) and Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS), has announced a major collaboration with the Football Association of Thailand. The alliance has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for the Thai League for four consecutive seasons, from 2025/26 to 2028/29, with an option to extend for an additional two seasons.
This marks a historic moment for Thai sports, as it is the first time all levels of the national football leagues including Thai League 1, Thai League 2, Thai League 3, FA Cup, League Cup, U-21 Youth League, and Women’s League 1 and 2 will be broadcast live. Using cutting-edge broadcasting technology and high-definition visuals, the goal is to set a new national standard for sports viewing, support the growth of Thai football talent—men, women, and youth alike and ensure universal access for Thai people nationwide.
Audiences will be able to watch via the AIS PLAY digital platform available on mobile and high-speed fixed broadband internet through AIS’s nationwide intelligent network as well as on MONO29 television channel. This ensures that fans of all ages and demographics can experience high-quality football coverage.
This historic partnership between GULF, AIS, JAS, and the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) represents a unified force igniting new hope for Thai football. The collaboration aims to elevate every aspect of Thai football—from the quality of broadcasts to grassroots and youth development. Moreover, there will be cooperation with the English Premier League to develop players, coaches, and referees, laying a solid foundation for a sustainable sports industry in Thailand.
This initiative is a significant step in creating opportunities, generating employment, and inspiring all Thais. It aims to propel Thai athletes onto the global stage and establish sports as a driving force behind a stronger Thai economy fueled by passion, dedication, and belief in the potential of the Thai people. This partnership unites all for the nation, the sports industry, and every Thai citizen—so that Thai football not only wins hearts at home but shines with dignity on the world stage.
Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO, Gulf Development Public Company Limited, stated, “GULF has been a steadfast supporter of Thai football for over a decade. We have proudly backed teams across Thai League 1 (T1), Thai League 2 (T2), and Thai League 3 (T3), and continue to support many of them today. Our decision to extend this support to the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) stems from a deep-seated aspiration: to see the Thai national team achieve victory on the international stage. It is my personal dream to witness Thai football reach the World Cup."
"This journey of supporting Thai football began with my discussions with AIS regarding the broadcasting of the Premier League, which served as a crucial starting point. Following this, I engaged in multiple conversations with the FAT, driven by the aspiration for GULF to play a significant role in elevating Thai football. More recently, during a trip to the UK, I had the invaluable opportunity to speak with the English Football Association. We explored avenues for collaboration, including the establishment of football academies in Thailand and the deployment of experts to train Thai referees. The English FA's positive reception to these ideas was pivotal, ultimately leading to this powerful three-way partnership between GULF, AIS, and JAS."
"A key strength in this collaboration is AIS's profound expertise in sports broadcasting. With the collective support, we aim to expand access to football, reaching even the T2 and T3 leagues. Given the travel challenges sometimes associated with provincial matches, our goal is to make football accessible in every home, on every mobile device, and in every location. We believe this will dramatically boost the sport's popularity in Thailand, drawing more public attention to various matches and significantly elevating the overall standard of Thai football while enhancing the viewing experience."
"Specifically for T3 matches, which often involve considerable logistical effort due to widely dispersed venues, I initiated discussions with THAICOM, a satellite telecommunications company. By leveraging THAICOM's satellite capabilities to address signal limitations in remote areas and connecting them with AIS, we are confident in our ability to bring football to every household."
"Beyond the game itself, football serves as a vital profession. With approximately 100 teams in the Thai football landscape, encompassing players and referees, an estimated 10,000 individuals are directly involved. Our support, therefore, indirectly fosters the growth of the Thai football industry, acting as a crucial driver for the nation's economy. These are the core objectives behind our commitment to supporting Thai football and enhancing its broadcast in this initiative," Mr. Sarath concluded.
Mr. Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, stated “AIS is honored to be part of this transformative journey for Thai football. We recognize the tremendous potential within Thai football—from the dedication of clubs and players to the powerful support from fans across the country. These are the driving forces behind our commitment to bringing Thai League football into the hands of the people.
As a leader in digital technology, AIS is ready to leverage the strength of our digital infrastructure to deliver the excitement of live football from the pitch to the screen. For the first time in history, Thai audiences will have access to all Thai League matches via AIS PLAY, our entertainment platform, backed by a smart network and high-quality fixed broadband internet.
With our high-definition live broadcasting technology, we believe this collaboration will not only enhance the fan experience but also play a crucial role in driving the economy and ensuring sustainable growth for Thailand’s sports industry.”
