GULF Earns Carbon Footprint Organization Certification, Solidifying Commitment to Net Zero by 2050

Mr. Smith Banomyong, Executive Officer, GULF, receives the Carbon Footprint Organization (CFO) certification from Dr. Chalermchai Sri-on, Minister of Natural Resources, at the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ)
Gulf Energy Development Plc. (GULF) has been awarded the Carbon Footprint Organization (CFO) certification for 2025 by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). This prestigious certification underscores GULF's unwavering dedication to sustainable business practices under its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, and its proactive approach to mitigating climate change. GULF’s achievement highlights its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The company is actively pursuing this goal through the adoption of modern technologies, strategic investments in energy transition, and a significant expansion of its renewable energy portfolio, aiming for at least 40% of total production capacity to be derived from renewable sources by 2035. Furthermore, GULF is integrating ESG principles throughout its value chain, collaborating with partners and business allies to collectively drive a low-carbon economy and society.
The CFO certification, granted by TGO, recognizes organizations that accurately measure and manage their greenhouse gas emissions. This assessment encompasses direct emissions, indirect emissions from purchased energy, and other relevant emissions sources, including fuel combustion, electricity consumption, waste management, and transportation. A rigorous third-party audit, conducted by a TGO-registered agency, ensures the accuracy and reliability of the reported emissions.
The Carbon Footprint Organization Certification Ceremony, where GULF was amongst 101 leading Thai organizations recognized, celebrated the contributions of these entities in driving greenhouse gas reduction. This initiative plays a crucial role in Thailand's journey towards achieving its national climate goals and fostering a sustainable, low-carbon future.
