Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), led by Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy CEO, has provided a total of 2 million baht in financial assistance as an encouragement to two brave soldiers injured by landmines in the Thai-Cambodian border region. The aid was given to Second Lieutenant Kiattiwong Sataworn, who was injured at Ta Kwai Castle in Surin province, and Sergeant Major Pichitchai Boonchoola, who was injured at the Chong An Ma border pass in Ubon Ratchathani. Both soldiers suffered the loss of a leg from their injuries. This financial support is part of the “100-million-baht fund” established by the company to provide relief to soldiers injured during security operations along the Thai-Cambodian border.
Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy CEO, GULF, stated, “Following the incident last July where a soldier sustained a leg injury from a landmine while on duty in Chong Bok, Ubon Ratchathani, GULF acted swiftly to provide immediate financial assistance. We recognize that other brave soldiers have also been continuously injured, and we are therefore committed to continuing this mission of giving today, using funds from the ‘100-million-baht fund’ that our company established specifically to provide relief and aid to soldiers from this incident. As a Thai citizen, I would like to express my profound gratitude and commend the courage and unwavering service of all our frontline soldiers. I wish you all strength of body and mind and a speedy recovery from your injuries.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade. Janya Sataworn, the mother of Second Lieutenant Kiattiwong Sataworn, expressed, “As the mother of Second Lieutenant Kiattiwong Sataworn or ‘Book’, I would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have dedicatedly cared for my son. I also thank GULF for extending a helping hand. I am grateful for the kindness from all sectors and the encouragement from all Thai people. I am very proud of what my son has done. I am proud that he is the King’s soldier and that he has fulfilled his duty to protect our homeland.”
Furthermore, GULF continues its social initiatives in the Thai-Cambodian border region. This demonstrates GULF’s unwavering commitment to social welfare and its consistent support for those who sacrifice for the nation. Recently, GULF established a 100-million-baht fund to assist soldiers who were injured, disabled, or lost their lives while performing security missions in border areas. The ‘GULF Asa’ volunteer team also jointly prepared and delivered over 2,000 ‘GULF Care’ relief packages to soldiers on security missions, as well as to affected citizens in shelters across provinces such as Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani. In addition, financial support has been provided for the management of these shelters. GULF has also collaborated within the Group companies, including AIS and Thaicom, to leverage communication and satellite technology to facilitate and expand 4G/5G signals for security officials, enabling them to communicate more conveniently and effectively.
