GULF Powers Up Siriraj Hospital with THB 1 Million Donation to Renovate Life-Saving Operating Rooms

Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), led by Mrs. Porntipa Chinvetkitvanit, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, presented a donation of THB 1,000,000 to support the essential renovation of operating rooms within the Syamindra Building at Siriraj Hospital.

The donation was received by Prof. Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, and Director of Siriraj Medical School, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tara Wongwiriyangkur, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital. The ceremony took place at the Administration Building, 1st Floor, Siriraj Hospital.

Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), stated, “This support for the renovation of the operating rooms in the Syamindra Building is a direct extension of our Corporate Social Responsibility mission, ‘Powering the Future, Empowering the People,’ in public health. GULF consistently undertakes healthcare projects to promote public access to efficient medical treatment, including providing long-term benefits to patients through the donation of essential medical instruments and equipment to various hospitals. We sincerely hope that being a part of this support for the renovation of the operating rooms will enable the hospital to accommodate patient treatment to its full potential and allow patients to access the highest level of effective medical care.”

Prof. Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, remarked, “The operating rooms on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the Syamindra Building at Siriraj Hospital, totaling 60 rooms, have been in operation for over 35 years. They have provided a relentless service schedule of 24 hours a day, every single day of the year. Through their work, these rooms have helped more than one million patients receive surgical treatment. Crucially, the majority of these individuals were successfully treated, recovered fully, and were able to return to their families and communities to live strong, healthy lives.”

“However, after long and heavy usage, all 60 operating rooms are now showing signs of deterioration, especially the internal environmental control systems—including temperature, humidity, air filtration, and access—and other systems critical for facilitating the work of our medical teams. These operating rooms therefore urgently require renovation. GULF’s support is highly significant because it will enable Siriraj patients to receive better treatment and reduce surgical waiting times. As representatives of Siriraj Hospital, we sincerely thank GULF for their dedicated assistance, and we commit to being a bridge that delivers this intention directly to the lives of patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.”
