GULF Reinforces Commitment Through 100-Million-Baht Fund, Provides 1.3 Million Baht to Aid Landmine Victims on Thai-Cambodian Border

Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), led by Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy CEO, GULF, officially visited and presented financial aid to soldiers who sustained injuries after stepping on landmines while executing border patrol duties. The incident occurred in the Huai Ta Maria area, Kantaralak District, Si Sa Ket Province, along the Thai-Cambodian border. The aid, totaling 1.3 million Baht, was extended to four affected military personnel: Sergeant Major 1st Class Thoedsak Samaphong, who suffered the tragic loss of his lower right ankle; Private Wachira Phanthana (Injuries sustained from shrapnel); Private Aphirak Sichomchai (Injuries sustained from shrapnel); and Private Anucha Sujari (Injuries sustained from shrapnel). This contribution is directly derived from the ‘100 Million Baht Fund’ that GULF established to provide crucial financial relief to soldiers injured or lost their lives while undertaking national security assignments in Thailand’s border territories. The GULF delegation was received by Colonel Surang Wittayawongsaruji, Director of Fort Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital, at the hospital premises in Ubon Ratchathani Province.

Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Assistant to Deputy CEO, GULF, shared, “Upon receiving the distressing news that our brave frontline soldiers were injured by a landmine while patrolling the Thai-Cambodian border near Huai Ta Maria, Si Sa Ket, I felt deeply concerned. Protecting our sovereignty is a heavy responsibility involving great risk and sacrifice. Therefore, it was important for me to come here to visit them in person and offer financial support through the 100-Million-Baht Fund established by GULF. We hope this support will help boost their morale and empower both these brave men and their families to move forward with strength and resilience.”

The 100-Million-Baht Fund was initiated by GULF to offer immediate assistance and relief to military personnel injured or killed while executing security mandates on the Thai-Cambodian border. The cumulative support disbursed from the fund has now exceeded 30 million Baht, encompassing: 17 million Baht in compensation (allocated as 1 million Baht per family) provided to the families of 17 fallen heroes; 10.5 million Baht in direct financial aid distributed to injured soldiers; and the provision of over 2 million Baht in life-saving medical equipment donated to Fort Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital.

Beyond the financial aid provided through the 100-Million Baht Fund, GULF maintains its steadfast commitment to supporting military personnel involved in border security missions. Initiatives include the donation of over 2,000 ‘GULF Care’ relief bags to soldiers and civilians affected and housed in various provincial shelters, the provision of ongoing financial support to these temporary shelters, and the strategic leveraging of communication and satellite technology through GULF affiliates to significantly enhance the operational efficiency and communication capabilities of security officials. GULF is dedicated to being an integral partner in driving Thailand’s sustainable growth across all sectors, firmly believing that national security forms the indisputable cornerstone for the nation’s strong and prosperous advancement.
