GULF’s CEO Sarath Meets Vietnamese President To Lam During Official Visit, Underscoring Thai Private Sector’s Role in Regional Clean Energy Transition

Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), joined the Thai government and leading business delegates to welcome and hold talks with H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The meeting took place during President To Lam’s official visit to Thailand as a guest of the Royal Thai Government from 27–28 May 2026. This marks his first official visit to Thailand and his first to an ASEAN member state since assuming the presidency.

Amidst the robust 50-year relationship between Thailand and Vietnam across both public and private sectors, GULF has played a pivotal role in strengthening energy security and supporting Vietnam’s energy transition. The company has continuously invested in three renewable energy projects in Vietnam—comprising two solar power plants and one wind power plant—with a total capacity of 247 MW. Navigating global geopolitical challenges and the transition toward a low-carbon society, GULF remains committed to partnering with both public and private entities in Vietnam to drive investments in clean energy and infrastructure.

“The close cooperation and shared vision of the leaders of Thailand and Vietnam will be a key driver for the sustainable growth of both nations,” said Mr. Sarath. “As a leading Thai private enterprise, GULF is ready to support public-private partnerships, particularly in the energy transition where we hold extensive experience and expertise. This will help drive the ‘New Engines of Growth,’ delivering socio-economic benefits to the people of both Thailand and Vietnam.”
