GULF Signs Deal with Vietnam to Develop 6,000 MW Natural Gas Power Project

Bangkok, November 2, 2019: Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, accompanied by Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, witnessed the signing of a Cooperation Agreement to develop a natural gas-fired power project and LNG terminal during the 35th ASEAN Summit hosted by Thailand. The project includes the development of an integrated LNG-to-power project in Ninh Thuan province in the southeastern region of Vietnam. The agreement was signed by Ms. Porntipa Chinvetkitvanit, Director, President and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited and Mr. Luu Xuan Vinh, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee.

The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Mr.Cheep Jullamon, former president of the Supreme Court and the President of the Advisory Board of GULF and by Former Energy Minister, Mr.Viset Choopiban, who is now chairman of GULF’s Board of Directors. The feasibility study for the development of the 6,000 MW natural gas-fired power plant and LNG terminal will be conducted to support developing energy infrastructure which will help secure economic growth in Ninh Thuan province and Vietnam’s southeastern region.
